The Giants of Bangalore is an portrait art project to celebrate the people who lifted up Bangalore to the Silicon Valley Capital of Asia.
I pitched the idea to Ashok Soota , Subroto Bagchi, Narayana Murthy, Nandan Nilekani , Azim Premji etc and got some very nice and humbling responses from all of them.
It features oil portrait paintings of the Technology leaders who braved against all odds to setup the Technology ecosystem of the country.
Each oil portrait is a 10ft x 6ft painting of various Technology leaders like Ashok Soota , Subroto Bagchi , Azim Premji, Narayana Murthy , Nandan Nilekani , Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and some other founders from product companies .
It is intended to be a travelling exhibition at all the major Technology and product companies and then to be a permanent exhibit (somewhere in Bangalore).
All the portraits strive to capture the essence of each of these leaders but not in a literal realistic interpretation. Art is a chronicler of history and this project intends the same.
Another important aim is also to raise the awareness level of art to everyone (software engineers included) thru a topic close to their heart. People understand portraits ..whether photographs or paintings. It’s a window to the soul.
Some study portraits paintings of Ashok Soota (founder of Mindtree and also known as the father of the Indian IT ) to arrive at possible styles with the man himself.

Project on hold for some time after a few half finished paintings. A bundle of joy took over all my free time.
