The eMobility app is an app that allows you to find the local energy providers charging stations and book a slot for electric vehicles at different locations or loading stations on the respective company premises.
Sounds simple right ? This was an app which punctured holes into a lot of our mental models. Electric is not that simple !
The persona : An average end consumer who has an electric vehicle for city roundabouts. Getting the UX right for charging an electric vehicle on the road is a critical part which can impact the adoption and wide spread usage evehicles.
Unlike fossil fuel vehicles refilling an electric vehicle entails the booking of a charging spot for a few hours at least. You cant just arrive and plug it in. You will have a half day wait if someone’s before you.
Crazy Insights from research : We found out that it may be easier and cheaper for people not finding parking to just go and book a spot and keep their vehicles for a few hours in busy areas. In that case how do you charge them? And what about the lost revenue from that.

- What if someone arrives at a spot late?
- What if someone is already charging and you have to wait your turn?Should you be penalized for someone else’s fault?
- What if the plug type for your car is not supported?
- What if someone else occupies your charging spot? How do you verify it’s you?
- what if someone charges their car for a 3 hours slot and goes for a smoke. And comes back the next day?
